From Welfare Checks To A $100-Million Payday - Conor McGregor's Inspirational Road To Stardom

in #life7 years ago

Conor Mcgregor has worked real hard and has seen lot of setbacks in his life.

One thing which has never changed in his life is his belief in The Law Of Attraction.

The heights he’s reached inside the UFC octagon are rooted in a sober, analytic and sometimes even dark private place.

This is what Conor has said recently when asked about the hard times he has faced in his life-

“I’ve seen difficult times. I know what that’s like. I learned from when I’ve lost and I’ve put things in place to make sure it doesn’t happen again,”

McGregor said recently.

“If you beat me, I’ll say fair enough and I’ll come back better and get you the next time.

You can’t keep me down. I learn from everything. Every experience makes me better.“

McGregor’s improvement as a fighter and person has taken him to a fight week that only he imagined “Conor Mcgregor v/s Floyd Mayweather Jr.”

The fight is projected to gross about $600 million in revenue, this is the same as Mayweather’s fight against Manny Pacquiao.

Conor has seen defeats in his life. And that too big defeats. But he is resilient.

The most visible example of Conor’s resilience came last year.

After he accepted a fight with Nate Diaz as a late replacement at a weight 25 pounds above his own UFC featherweight class to preserve a pay-per-view main event.

He then lost the fight by second round submission.

Diaz rocked Conor with several punches and later the fatigued Irishman submitted against the jujitsu specialist. Yes, sure he lost.

But there was something very inspiring about McGregor that night.

One can see his facial expression that revealed the pain of losing and a sort of tribute to the better man and also the determination to win the rematch.

People like Conor is not different from people like us. What makes them different is their determination level and their never say die attitude.

Conor admitted immediately after the fight that he was

“heartbroken … I took a chance [moving up in weight] and it didn’t pay off,” adding in a television interview,
“I will not shy away from it and will not make excuses for it. All I will do is assess and come back.”

What happened next?

Five months after fan’s hero lost to Diaz, the fans again insisted them to fight again and they did at 170 pounds.

A fitter McGregor landed steady punches that dropped Diaz early in the fight en route to a win by decision.

In 2015, before he become featherweight champion he spoked.

In which he was required to end then-champion Jose Aldo’s 10-year unbeaten streak.

He told to The Times and London Daily Telegraph that he’d lure Aldo forward, disappear like a ghost and deliver a knockout punch.

Thirteen seconds into that fight, that’s exactly what happened. Exactly what he said. Law of Attraction will work for you, if you believe in it.

“About when I was 15,” McGregor said his sister tried to educate him about the law of attraction. “It didn’t resonate. I was like, ‘Nah, shut up,’ but then it did eventually, and I’ve been walking it since.

Here’s what he further added for his belief in the law of attraction –

“I’d been hearing and reading about it and then I noticed it coming into play.

Let’s say you wake up in the morning in a rush. If I felt that feeling, I’d go outside it and go to the attraction.

Then I’d start waking up chilled and not worried, and it was like … free roads … so I just kept playing with it.”

As his fame was rocketing high, Conor took upon himself to respond to Mayweather which ultimately coaxed the 40 yr old legend out of retirement.

This time, McGregor forecasts that the use of eight-ounce gloves will lead to an early knockout and perhaps seal which combat sport is king.

But, he lost.

Here’s what Floyd said for him after the once in a lifetime fight –

“He’s a lot better than I thought he was … he used different angles. But I was the better man …
It was our gameplan to take our time and take him out down the stretch.”
“I chose the right dance partner for my last dance … this was my final fight.”

He certainly lost the fight but Conor has gained a lot of respect from everyone here.

The belief in the law of attraction has certainly made Conor a hero.

Conor who was collecting a welfare check in an area of Dublin as Crumlin 5 years ago, winning a fight days later that would help ensure he wouldn’t have to return to the office.

This guy is a true inspiration for all those who are struggling in their lives and crying and complaining.
I learned a lot from him and will recommend you too to start believing in yourself and start working on yourself.

Till than stay motivated.
