Possible Starting Destination Change? What Do You Think?
I was thinking of changing the starting destination of the adventure. I could save about half the money for the train ticket if I chose to take a plane to Las Vegas instead, and start from there. I would still end up taking a train after all is said and done, back to Santa Barbara, because I have this mental wall with Santa Babara, I feel like I need to go there, and stand at the spot I always said I would stand at. I think that would be a great end point, of this whole adventure, me standing at the spot I always said I would stand at.

I think it's a great idea to hit Vegas first. Especially if it's going to save money. Plus, like you said you could start riding a day sooner.
It'd actually end up being around 2 days sooner. Heading east, about 3 days sooner. That's why Im juggling this idea.

Pretty sure I'm sticking with the original plan, but if there is some reason I can't take my bike on the train, I have a backup plan:)

Go with your original plan. It's more important to achieve the dream than to save a buck in this case.
If it's about Money, then maybe you should be Frugal.. But if your Heart wants to stick with the Original Plan then follow your Heart. It's your Decision.
I'm about 80 percent sticking with he original destination. But I'll make the decision in the next couple of days!
