His real name is Alexis Vélez Alberio, born on June 10, 1983, in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. He is married to Dennisse Contreras and has two children: Daniel Alexander and Sophia Grace.

It has about ten musical productions, and several awards from Pemios AMCL and Unción.

Alexis Vélez Alberio better known as Alex Zurdo was born on June 10, 1983, in the city of Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. He is the son of Ángel N. Velez and Janet Alverio.

From his childhood he had a strong inclination for music, wrote music and also played the piano. At the age of 11 he wrote his first rap songs. At age 13 he had his first piano and learned to play it alone. In the following years he participated in several rap and reggae productions.

Although Alexis was a quiet and studious child, when he reached adolescence, due to the emptiness in his heart, he began to frequent friends who were involved in drug use and liked to waste time standing on street corners. However, God had better plans for him and one Sunday a Christian lady, who spent every week where he used to be, preached the Word of God and he felt the Lord's call.

When Alex was 19 years old he started to attend the Christian Church "International Center of Praise" (CIA) in the city of San Juan, Puerto Rico, but his real change began in a spiritual retreat of young people, in which he participated at the insistence of his father.

Due to this change of life, Zurdo left music aside, but over the years he realized that, with the artistic gifts that God had given him, he could reach more people with the message of salvation.

At the age of 21, Alex Zurdo began his musical ministry, including ministrations, conferences and seminars and thanks to God putting the right people in the way of this singer, he launched his first Christian music production entitled Nada es mío.
