Me and my life full of paradoxes

in #introducingmyself6 years ago

My story can be shocking, as well as regular. What matters is what I want to say. I grew up in a country that is being destroyed slowly, but it is full of dichotomies that are not found anywhere else.

One of the paradoxes of my life is my grandfather that, when he was younger, took a boat from Italy, his native country, looking for a future. He arrived to Venezuela, a place full of solidarity and cheerful people, always with open arms to foreigners. He fell in love and made his dreams come true. Now my wish is to go to another country for a better future.

The difference is that I want to know the whole world, and travel every single time I can. To meet other cultures, traditions, beliefs, architecture, music, lifestyles, and gastronomy. And there’s another paradoxe! I’ve never traveled before. Funny, isn’t it?

Since I was a child, I’ve loved music. That’s how my curiosity gave me the impulse to learn how to play some musical instruments, like violin, flute, piano, guitar, cello and even singing. Thanks to music I met the most important people in my life, as well as I’ve also experienced feelings that only music can help me transmit.

Something I’ve felt passion about is the cinema. It is the window that takes you to unimaginable adventures, where somehow everybody can identify with the main character of the story and you can disconnect yourself away from reality for a while. Though I admit it had helped me sometimes, as to have the courage to face my fears, or to make an important decision. And since I study the seventh art, I’ve been fussy with movies. From the structure, to the framing of a plane, or even the photography.

I have always been a huge fan of good stories; without realizing it, I pour myself into them and get immerse into them as well. Since I was a child, I’ve read them in books and watched them on tv and the giant screen. I also love the mythology and legends. I’m very observant and I love fiction, so I usually write stories that start from the daily things and end up with bizarre things out of the ordinary. Maybe it is my perception of life, or the explanation of how I see things.

People are full of stories, also the places have witnessed incredible things. Sometimes you need to open your mind and let it flow. After all, that’s how Harry Potter, Frodo or even Darth Vader came to exist.

I’m very empathetic, that’s why I tend to be selective about the people around me. Sometimes I overthink everything and I look for a way to print it down onto paper through stories, tales, scripts, and so. There also are photographs that express my mood, or a feeling. Someone dear to me once told me: “What use does it have feeling if you can’t express it?”, I think he’s right.

Sometimes routine immerses us so much, that we don’t see beyond it. Not everything is black or white. As Hitchcock said, “There’s something more important than logic: Imagination.” So,** let's start writing, telling stories and show them up!**
