Flowering my Thelocactus hexaedrophorus
I really like my Thelocactus hexaedrophorus.
And so I have 2 of them :-)
I like the rare blue-gray color of this cactus, as well as its unusual red-brown spines. Which, with the age of the cactus, change their color.
The homeland of this cactus is Mexico.
Thelocactus hexaedrophorus is easy to care for. But the less I almost ruined one of them.
The fact is that one Thelocactus hexaedrophorus was standing in direct sunlight (and this is not a suitable place for it), so it must be protected from sunburn.
And the second one stood where the sun's rays fell only in the afternoon (so he felt great and bloomed).
And my second mistake was incorrect watering.
Unlike many cacti, Thelocactus hexaedrophorus likes abundant watering (but not overflowing) from spring to autumn.
He also perfectly tolerates a drop in temperature to -7 ° C.
It grows very slowly.

С камешками замечательно гармонирует. Колючки на когти спрятавшегося зверька похожи. Цветочек при этом чудесный, сама нежность.

странно, что для кактуса солнечные лучи вредны. он же кактус! ))
Этому кактусу вредны прямые дневные солнечные лучи, т.к. на Кипре летом часто температура бывает выше + 50 С.
И этот не единственный кактус, которому вредна такая температура.
Еще кактусы разные: бывают пустынные и лесные. Лесным прямые солн.лучи опасны. К лесным кактусам относится и декабрист (думаю вам знаком этот цветок).
Но есть кактусы, которые и выше +50 С спокойно переносят. У меня многие стоят под солнцепёком и нормально, живые, еще и цветут :-)
у нас недавно "декабрист" появился как раз ))
У меня их 3 :-)
"Декабристы" любят теплый душ, и нелюбят пересыхания почвы.
