5 minute freewrite challenge. Toothache
An extreme visit to the dentist.
My toothache was not just painful, it had been throbbing constantly for 2 days – I needed to see a dentist but I had no money, and so would have to wait for my appointment - in 3 days time...
Alcohol was always a pleasant way to anesthetize the pain - so a bar and whiskey, were on the list of 'things to do' that day..
Four hours later I left the bar, and I was pain free! Yaaay !
Now in a very in a very good mood and also very drunk, I thought it would be a good Idea to ride my bike home...
Fours hours later I woke up on an operating table, with my lower leg smashed in two halves, and bones protruding skywards.
The pain was excruciating, and the doctors were unable to give me any morphine, due to my alcohol blood levels...
Four hours later, I was in operating theater, where doctors were saving my leg from amputation.
Four days later, I had by broken jaw reset, and most of my teeth removed.
But hey !....My toothache had disappeared.
One thing leads to another and another; having read the older post during Christmas week you shared on other matter, this gives the backstory least for the "accident", I admire your wit in its deatil, but as well, you went through hell. Life throws many things at us...many are inevitable : failing, mistakes aging etc, - yours was not unlike a battle pre/post experiences (and I know you know that) and I admire your reflection.
Everyone goes through hell, it's called life...
Aye mate, that we do and makes us endure and better people; unless of course one is British. If so, then one is already...infinitely superior! ;) fyi - my UK friends (yes one or two, RIGHT!) call me... the noisy bugger!
