Mexico's Beautiful Textiles: A Gallery of Things I Want to Import HOW Do I Do It?
Backpacking through Mexico has allowed me the opportunity to experience many beautiful textiles.
If you have any knowledge or experience
of importing or re-selling duty free goods
to the USA from foreign countries
I would love to hear from you.
Since late April 2017 I have been backpacking through Latin America
But, more specifically, I am currently following a Magical City tour of Mexico
with my starting point at Steemit's beloved contributor,
The Garden of Eden @gardenofeden in Kennedale, Texas.
Today I am in the magical city of Tepotzlan, Mexico.
As a little girl I became a seamstress just by
watching my mother sew and reading,
basically self-teaching.
In 1992 I received a degree in Pattern Drafting and Engineering
which was followed by many years both working for myself
as well as in major knock-off and distribution companies.
At the age of 40 I returned to the University.
At the age of 47 I became an Anthropologist
with a double minor of Spanish and Women's Studies.
As part of my life changing goals I Am fulfilling my dreams
of backpacking through Latin America.
Having a trained eye since the time I was a little girl
I know quality textiles when I see them.
Here in Mexico I have found many beautiful products
handmade by indigenous local women.
Almost all textile work is done by women.
I only choose natural local fibers such as wool and cotton.
More than anything, I am bringing beautiful textile products
to those who desire them
while simultaneously supporting the women
who create them.
At this point I am ready to move to the next step,
getting these items to those who desire them
in both wholesale and retail possibilities.
However, I am on the move, only remaining in one place
between a couple nights and a few weeks.
Therefore, I need a situation for easily shipping the products
to a warehouse that will manage everything.
My desire at this point is to inspire someone with solutions,
who is as excited about this as I Am.
In a few weeks I will be in Guatemala.
The Maya women are great artisans so the possibilities are continuously unfolding
Nothing else exists but to keep the...
Much gratitude to @rigaronib for my beautiful new steemit logo.

I could of course help out with this. Wholesale is more difficult because u have to have a large sum of money to buy large quantities of products, so u will need an investor. U will also have to pay duties, file taxes and do paper work etc.
So unless u get a big investor that wants to go into business ur best option is to set up an online store (or we could just use my store) and put products on there that u can easily get wherever it is ur gonna be (I am sure there are some items that are "normal" and available all over south america) or just wherever u are going to stay for any extended time or where u have a connection the the products u choose to put on a store and they could just send out products when they get ordered. If ur just sending out an item or a few at a time u can send them "as gifts" and not have to worry about duties, taxes, forms etc.
Many of the sources I am finding are indigenous who have no computer skills but others I believe do, such as the guy with the many sweaters and wool things in my photos. I can find out tomorrow.
However, my experience with the mail system in Latin america fluctuates from country to country. Problems can be super expensive postage, to items always being stolen that are marked for the USA. Of course, there is always a solution.
Therefore, I will ask about this also. I'll get back with you.
Indeed... I agree about that! :)
Oooooo yes!!!! Gotta love those textiles. I'm right there with you in the enjoyment of these handmade treasures. There is so much talent in those hands applied to the simple life. I'm glad to see your journey is unfolding according to your dreams and that your experience at the @gardenofeden continues to ignite your fire.
Awesome logo @rigaronib. Blessings are flowing your way @loveon. I'm sure you're basking in the glory of it all!
I am enmeshed with the experience of the true Eden Knight. These textiles are great items. Looking forward to the possibilities. Beautiful things are unfolding. Much love and gratitude.
No doubt. Sharing inspired treasures bring about great possibilities. I'm excited to see how that unfolds. Love received and back at cha!
