Birth and Beginnings

I don't know about you but there is something so sweet and miraculous to observe life in its infancy up close.

One afternoon, I decided to face the heat and went out to trim the low limbs off our trees close to the herb and strawberry patch. Only to find this nest! The mama and papa cardinals made a nest and the bottom foundation is plastic. Although sad that they found plastic, I'm still amazed at how smart these feathery love-birds are.

3 Beautiful Eggs

I'm short so I can't see what the eggs look like or how many there are. So with a handy dandy camera, I snapped a video (which I haven't edited yet and will post once done) and wow. Such an exciting moment, we all watched the video I took because we can't be shaking the tree or the eggs might break.

After 12 Days

And there is one! We've been seeing the papa cardinal feed this baby. It is so beautiful and wonderful I can't begin to describe it. I have to check the nest again and see if the other two eggs hatched yet.

Life is so precious. Nature is beautiful. We are blessed and we'd like to share this moment with you.
