A Colombian Christmas Diversion in Medellín
@wolfcat and I touched down in Medellín and grabbed a collectivo to barrio Laureles with some expats we met on the plane.
We ended up spending the night in a room rented from our new friends and enjoying some fantastic hospitality along with stories of local coffee farms, rich agricultural lands, and secret emerald mines hidden behind waterfalls.
Medellín really takes their Christmas celebrations quite seriously, and local light displays abound. We found ourselves in a nearby park, enjoying some incredible creations.
Of course we had to make time for some arepas at one of the local eateries... Yummm!
We just said farewell to our hosts, and made sure to leave them a few Agoric Scrip ;)
We had a breakfast of mango, dragonfruit, tangerine, with some delicious coca tea and Irish breakfast followed by empanadas and salad at a local spot.
Now we're off to Guatapé for some Spanish language studies, yoga, and hiking around the countryside.
Hold down the fort while we're gone my dear Steemian family.
enjoy the rock!
