To Love and To Let Go....

Looking back at those times,
When we first met each other and laid our eyes.
It was never love at first sight,
But both hoping that love will blossom not fight.

Days and nights spent with you,
Late convos and date nights we enjoyed through.
You came in my life unexpectedly,
Making my world upside down really.

Who would have thought I'd enjoyed having you around,
My not-the-type of guy that I found.
But, as they say opposites do attract,
Having each other we said was our luck.

Many plans for each other were made,
A lifetime of partnership we both agreed.
Despite the short period of time we knew,
We were sure that what we had will be a start of something new.

As they say some things don't last forever,
Even the happy moments we shared with one another.
No matter how we wanted it to last,
But letting go I shall say is a must.

There were what ifs and resentments along the way,
Pains and heart aches felt night and day.
At times, I wished I never met you,
Because I find it hard to let you go.

After the pains, tears and heartbreaks I had,
It shaped me to be a better person not bad.
I know this happens for a reason,
Soon, I believe, I will have my own and rightful season.

To the person who made me the happiest before,
I'm wishing you all the happiness in life you long for.
We might soon cross our paths once more,
For sure, we will just laugh on the memories we had before.

This time I shall say,
I will love and honor myself more each day.
I realized no one in our life will always stay,
It's only ourself and God who will never leave us astray.

This poem is based on my personal experience. I just want to account how I go through that episode in my life.
Though it hurts, but it surely brought me a great and lifelong lesson. It makes me realize on loving myself more. It makes me value more the people around me especially my family.
