Do I have something to offer on Steemgigs?
Ginabot has updated me about my favorite author and mentor @maverickinvictus's new blog about Steemgig's while I was having my online class. Though I don't ask him a lot of questions about Do's and Don'ts of the Steemit platform, since I have this attitude of "I don't want to bother others if I think I can try to learn it myself.", he is still the person who helped me a lot on this platform. I don't know how to repay you. Haha!
Talking about Steemgigs, I had read about it before and even checked it out but I just skipped it since I don't think "I have something to offer."

What can I offer?
Yes, I have a degree but is that enough? I don't think so. I can't even proudly say that I am an expert of my job my now.
I am actually a licensed elementary teacher but I am not teaching in any schools in my area. I had been a secretary for a year but been fired because I couldn't fit in that demanding job. I worked as an office-based online English tutor in three different companies with different Asian students. I was even promoted to an assistant head teacher but gave it up for some reason.
I can say that my job at the moment is fit to https://steemgigs.org/ because it's a home-based job. I have been working as a home-based online English tutor for 3 years. Probably, I can say that this is my forte since I have been doing this type of job for 7 years now or so. Though I am still not very confident of my skill. Haha!
At this moment, I am paid 145 PHP (2.79 USD) per hour which is quite big for a Filipino employee, especially if you are working in the province just like where I am living now. Most private employees here are paid 150 PHP (2.89 USD) a day.
If you are working as a home-based teacher you could really earn more since you could open classes from 6 AM to 12 MID. However, I don't open too many classes every day since I want to give a quality lesson to every student.
Even though I fit to offer an online English class, I am still not sure if somebody on Steemit would like to learn English. Haha! But if you are interested, comment down and I will try to create an offer on Steemigigs.

Hehe! That's what I actually do for a living.
That's quite affordable I think. When the tutoring world was not yet in demand here in our place, wen can earn from PHP250 and up. I quit because the asking price went so low quickly. I think you know what you can offer and you know yourself. Seven years is a long time for you to have earned lots of experiences.

145 PHP is just an initial per hour salary, it would go up to 200 PHP depending on your overall performance and the company I am connected with has got more incentives so I could earn more because of that. True that! The rate given wasn't really enough but considering my location, it actually big. People here say that I have a good salary which in fact it isn't. haha!
I'm from Baguio :) That rate was a steep drop too because those tutors before earned twice and maybe triple than that.
In your company now, I think that is great considering you have incentives and the rate could increase.
I think lifestyle and needs are just come factors in determining our spending.
I totally agree with you. The tutor's hourly rate drops fast. Honestly, this home-based job pays me more than the Korean and Japanese online schools that I had before.
I think most ESL companies are in Baguio even the Philippines' branch office of the company I am working now is in there. From a southern person's thinking, the north has a much expensive lifestyle and needs. And in my town, I can't have that fabulous lifestyle. Hehe
The issue of difference in rate should be revisited so that there should just be a standard pay wherever you are. We do the same kind of jobs and probably even more but yet we are paid less.
