Shifting

Friends,

We were planning to shift our office for last two months when COVID wave was less.

The soft process had started from that time and it takes a lot of effort.

The hard process had started yesterday, which takes a lot of physical pain. And this pain becomes double due to COVID-related restrictions.

For example, today I called the carpenter for dismantling the tables. The phone ranged for three times and no one picked up. Then after half an hour call came with a lady's voice.

I was hesitant to talk as the carpenter was a male person. Anyway, I answered the call and came to know that she is his wife and the carpenter has gone from Kolkata to his native place Odisha.

I asked for any other number of him and she answered she will provide after some time. She provided me the number and told me to call him.

I tried three-four times and got the answer that the phone is switched off. After an hour I got him and he said he cannot come as lockdown has started in Odisha. He can only come after the closure of the lockdown.

As he is the master of this process I am not in a position to rely upon another carpenter. Anyway, I called another carpenter who can only come on next week.

My entire shifting got delayed.

However, I already booked the transporter for tomorrow for hard shifting of packets where I have to pay an exorbitant price which far from normal, and the excuse is the COVID situation and price hike of fuel.

I have to pay again to the transporter for another round of transporting the office materials as the carpenter and the air conditioner mechanics will come on the next week.

This COVID has changed all the normal planning of individuals and society.
