The Australians call it the Eighth Miracle of the World , but in fact this is perhaps underestimation. The Great Barrier Reef is the only living organism on the planet that is visible from outer space. Spreading more than 1930 km between 16 and 80 km from the Queensland coast, it is virtually not a coral reef but a sum of 2900 smaller reefs, with about 300 islands scattered among them.
