Orphan (2009) by Jaume Collet-Serra (REVIEW)

in #movie6 years ago

I am not a huge fan of horror movies but there are times that you want to change the genre and just relax with comedy or get intense with horror. It is a fact that I haven’t watched a lot of horror movies and those that I’ve watched are decent ones and really scary, such as “The Conjuring”, “The Others”, “The Shining”, “The Exorcist” and few more.

But I watched those movies long time ago, I haven’t watched a decent horror lately, but I can agree that this movie was a good refreshment for me. The movie is pretty well-balanced, well written and the story is spooky and likely to happen in the near future.

Without revealing much of this movie I will just write the short plot and finish the review, because I found this movie to be a good entertaining especially at the late hours. The movie starts with a couple that have sex, so this may not want to be a pleasant moment if you watch this movie with your family.

The plot goes like this. A married couple with two children decide to adopt another female child. They decide to adopt this girl because they lost the 3rd child in abortion.

They adopt the little girl named Esther, the little girl seems to be well raised kid with Russian origins. The girl says that their parents died in a fire. Everything goes well in their lives until they enter the house, very soon they will face a lot of problems in their family, things that you cannot expect from young children.

The overall acting is good, I love it, mystery and thriller, perfect combination for a good enjoyment at night, and I recommend you to watch it.
