Chef (2014) by Jon Favreau (REVIEW)

in #movie8 years ago

Chef is a movie where the main role is played by Carl Casper as (Jon Favreau) who is divorced chef who’s been taking his job very seriously and he is very good at it. Because of his disagreements in his job and the nervous boss Riva played by Dustin Hoffman who is telling him what to cook and how to cook it.

After he leaves his job, his ex-wife Inez played by Sofia Vergara offers him to open a food truck. After some time and a lot of thinking about the idea, he decides to accept her plan and he heads to Miami where he buys a food truck from Inez ex-husband.

With help from his restaurant colleague Martin and his son Percy, they clean the food truck and they start with their journey, a journey where Karl and his son Percy will strengthen their dad-son connection while they were unable to do that previously thanks to Karl’s job as a chef in the former restaurant.

The movie is excellent overall and I recommend it to anyone, some may say that this is a “food movie” but I will disagree, the food/cooking in the movie is represented as a secondary thing while the connection of those people live are the main topic. The movie duration is around 1 hour and 45 minutes, well spent time, the music, the acting and everything else is in perfect order. And of course you will enjoy the beauty of Sofia Vargara and Scarlett Johansson.
