Needleworkmonday - dragon parts
I have been pretty busy but I did manage to get a couple parts built for my dragon skeleton.
I thought the wings might add too much weight for the back to support so I made another backbone that I will attach to the first for better structural support.
Speaking of wings, I got the parts for the basic structure done. These will be built in roughly the same way as they are displayed.
Now I just need to attach these parts to the rest of the skeleton and then wrap them in the roving.
That's looking cool, @lordvdr ! I'm looking forward to seeing how you get on.
In this community I have seen two other people that also do felting:
@innahandmade who makes wonderful model animals. I think she uses this sort of structure and I particularly like this example
@felt.buzz and his website
I have a long way to go :D
I'm personally looking forward to my second felt-making session on Thursday - I've had to miss two of the ten and one was on drawing with wool :(
During the first session the 12 participants did 'wet felting'. I've done felting both wet and dry before but not for a while.
I prefer dry felting as it's less 'energy intensive' on my part :D
... Anyhow, here's my result; it doesn't look too impressive but it took a lot of rolling and squeezing - it's amazing to see the whole process !
Thank you for the information about the other felters.
The only wet felting I have done is when I made some dryer balls with needle felting and had to wash them before use. It seems much messier.
