What Would You Do With One Million Dollars?

Everyone wants a bit of luck; you want things to go your way often, and for that to happen you have to be either really lucky, or really rich. And here I was being asked a question that combined both and was supposed to be very easy and straightforward, but was pondering on it longer than expected.

What would you do with one million dollars?

Of course it goes without saying that I would spend a little lavish, change my wardrobe and get new shoes (damn I need new shoes). Take the boys out for nights in the town and find a few girls to keep us company. Buy some champagne and Henny in the VIP sections of everywhere we like.

Buy a house on the island and then visit a Mercedes dealership and buy a GLS. Invest in my ideas and other things, sit back and watch the money roll in.

But is that realistic?

First off I’m too familiar with Nigerian families; I expect all my aunties and uncles, including the ones I only met as a baby to appear with congratulations and good wishes, while plotting ways get some of the blessings.

And then of course I have your immediate family. With that kind of cash in my laps I’m now the breadwinner; all bills are sent to my quarters as the resident moneybag.

I can ignore the extended family I don’t care about, but I care about my immediate family, so money has to be reserved for bills and possible expenses from them.

After nights of spending lavish and gallivanting around town my friends begin one by one to find ways to extend their own monetary requests. There’s also a matter of how much to keep for this.

Then there’s the question of how much to spend on a house, some of em houses especially on the island in Lagos are hella expensive, so how much do I plan to spend here to get what house?
Then I also have my business ideas, how much do I invest here and how much do I invest in external business and bonds or whatever. Then how much do I leave just sitting there for lifestyle maintenance till the money from my business and investments start rolling in?

This is a lot to think about and I haven’t even gone into so many details. Finance takes some sitting down and calculating. It’s easy to say what it would seem like, but speaking realistically there’s a lot to factor in when spending huge amounts of cash.

lol... for real, the money comes in slow, but gushes out fast.
I think, i would immediately throw mine into investment straight up, cos thoughts to spend it lavishly would always come. I could buy some BTC with it and withdraw the surplus to meet my expenses as the market rises. Nice Post.

Its easy to say invest straight up but definitely you can't invest it all and you'll realise just how many expenses you'll and business ideas you have and want to push when you get it.
