Slipping away, becoming caged

The system wins, where is my rage?

I told myself I won’t be this

This robot man who’s chasing bits

But I have no choice this is my life

Tryna find my voice to feel alive

Today like every other day

I wake and try to find my way

Please angels see me and give me wings

To fly above and swim in bliss

Let nature’s troubles avoid my path

When others groan please let me laugh

In thirst and drought they all might dwell

Let me be one who has a well

And let the girls give me a chance

No curves in sight when I advance

So I can wear a smile again

And not just one to hide my pain

    Very nice! The first verse was my favorite. To me, it describes how sometimes slipping into negative thinking cages you. What were you thinking of when writing this poem?

    Thank you. I was thinking about how the rat race nature of life can get to a young man who has had a few failures and is losing motivation.
