Sometimes You Have To Change Your Behavior

Some people are really good at what they do and are able to change their behavior. For example, they may have a habit of always going with the flow. They don't argue when someone else is having an argument with them. Or if something upsets them so they act out, then they may cry or scream. These people seem to be able to change their behavior any time they want to. They are able to completely adapt to their surroundings because they know that everything will be alright.


On the other hand, other people can't change very easily. There are things in their environment or circumstances that trigger strong emotions in them. They just can't seem to get it. If you want to change your behavior when you have to deal with people who are hard to deal with, then you need to know how to read their body language. When you do, you'll know instantly what is making them mad or sad. When you are around them and you notice something triggering this in them, then you can change your behavior to match their mood.

When you make a suggestion to them, make sure it's related to what is making them upset. If you start talking to someone in a negative way, then you're likely to create even more conflict in the situation. Even if you think you're doing the right thing by correcting the situation, it may still blow up in your partner's face. Try not to use anger or aggression when you're with someone who is emotionally vulnerable. You might just make them even more defensive than before!

If you've noticed that the situation is getting worse, then you might want to leave. Don't make it a power struggle where you'll win by being more dominant. Let them know that you will leave them alone if they continue to be angry. They'll be relieved and then they'll probably apologize for their behavior. Then you can make a suggestion that they should try talking to a friend or loved one to help clear their heads.

When you are in a situation where you have to be strong, be sure you remain calm. You don't have to let the other person win the argument or take over the conversation. You have the right to stay silent. However, you have to make sure that you listen to what the other person is saying and that you respond accordingly.

If they've become unreasonable or angry, you'll want to make a polite request for them to return to their position. Ask them if they want to talk about it. If they do, tell them that you understand and would like them to talk. Be sure to express your sympathy for what they're going through, but make sure that you don't take control of the situation.

Sometimes you have to stand up for someone else even when you don't want to. For example, if you are in a store and someone is bothering you by asking rude and inappropriate questions or if you feel they are stealing your gum or candy, you have the right to stand up for yourself. You don't have to give in to them by agreeing with their point of view. You have the right to tell them that you will not tolerate such behavior and that you will report them to the management.


Remember, sometimes you have to be willing to fight for what you believe in. If you don't fight for what you believe is right, you'll find yourself getting left behind in a situation you don't need to be in. Make sure you know how to handle certain situations. It's your job as an adult to set the example for your children. Don't let your kids suffer because you don't want to see them face a difficult situation.
