Information is not power; and power is not information. You may have heard the famous line, "A power-hungry monkey never made any progress." What that means to the average person is, "A person with a lot of information, whether correctly used, will never make any progress." Information is not so much power as it is knowledge.


Knowledge is power, because, when properly used, knowledge produces the effect of progress. The more knowledge you have, the more you can do, solve problems, or enjoy life. But in order to use that knowledge properly, it must be properly used. For instance, if you knew how to play the piano, wouldn't you want to play some songs? Of course you would.

We all have the potential to use our mind to do almost anything. We are capable of building skyscrapers, designing new automobiles, curing diseases, creating art, learning foreign languages, inventing machines that work, etc. All this is possible because of the potential for knowledge. Monkey business men thrive on the media, television, the news and the written word. They believe that if they give a few speeches or write a few articles that their knowledge will give them the right status, and they will be influential. However, it is wrong. Because they don't use their knowledge they are just wasting that potential for power and influence.

Knowledge can be misused if it is not used properly. That is why people need to be careful about what they publish or speak about. If it is incorrect, it could very well damage an entire industry or cause an international incident.

How could information be not power? Suppose you are in charge of advertising some product. When you start to distribute your brochures or your leaflets, you realize that your target audience does not understand it and does not purchase it. That is quite wrong. Why? You see, it is important to harness the power of information and use it correctly and effectively. Otherwise you will simply be wasting your effort and your time.

The law of attraction suggests that you manifest what you focus on. If you want a healthy mind and body, you need to concentrate on getting healthy. Similarly, if you want to increase wealth, you need to focus on increasing wealth. The reason why you need to harness the power of information is because when you understand it properly, you can use it to its maximum advantage.

You can use your knowledge to generate income or to help others. You can use it to spread awareness. You can use it to share your talents. But if you do not harness the power of information, none of these things will happen.
