How to Define Success - Break the Ice Before You Define Success!

Define success for yourself. You must be very clear on what it is that you want to achieve. Define success for your business by looking at it from different aspects. When I talk to people who are brand-new to Internet marketing, I often ask them to define success. Most of the time, they have no idea.


Success is a state of mind. There are some things that we focus on more than others. For me, I like to focus on the things that are harder to do, like learning new skills and doing new things. Because I focus on these harder things, I am able to achieve more in less time.

Define Your Goals. Write down all of your goals. Put it in a place where you can see them everyday. When you look at your goals, it makes it easier to focus on them and achieve them.

Define Success Based on Why You Want Them. Why do you want to achieve a certain goal? Are you trying to gain a promotion or build a business? Is there a specific goal you would like to achieve for the New Year? What will make you feel like you are successful? When you know why you are writing down your goals, you will be motivated to do the important things necessary to reach your goals.

Define Success Based on What You Can Achieve. If you write down your goals, who you are as an individual, and what you can achieve, you will be motivated to take action. When you put yourself in a positive frame of mind, you are much more likely to go forward and achieve your goals. You don't want to set goals in a mind-boggling way, only to not achieve them.

Define Success by Working Towards One Goal. Sometimes we are so driven by the success that we sometimes loose sight of the big picture. Focus on reaching one goal at a time. This will help you achieve your goals and give you a sense of accomplishment.

Define Success by Working Smart. Don't do things just because you are told to do them. Doing things the right way will bring you success. Make a goal and stay focused on it.

Define Success by Visualizing Your Goals. When you visualize your goals in your mind, you are putting yourself in a positive state of mind and boosting your motivation. It makes you want to take action and actually achieve your goals. The more you visualize, the more likely you are to achieve your goals. Keep in mind that when you see your goals, you also have to see your future with those goals in mind.

Define Success by Using Positive Thinking. We tend to get into negative thinking patterns. We see negative things on the news, in our homes, and in our work life. To overcome these negative thinking patterns, use positive thinking affirmations. Thinking positively is the key to success. You must believe in yourself, your capabilities, and your plans before you can create successful goals.

Define Success by Using Goals That Are Related to Your Career or Job. A good goal-setting strategy is to set short-term goals and long-term goals. This way, you know exactly what you are trying to accomplish.

Define Success by Giving Yourself Specific Responsibilities. Write down your goals for the year. On each page, write down your responsibilities. Make sure you give yourself enough time to complete the tasks.


The most important thing about success is choosing to do it. Do you think it's possible to accomplish something only if you feel like doing it? Not really. Like all habits, you have to want success in order to have it. Then, nothing else will do.
