Be like Ronaldo or be like Mike ? - The 90's story

in #sports7 years ago (edited)

A while ago,I would have said I had the privilege to grow up in the 90's, but when I remember how I had to scout and scrap TV channels to catch just a moment of action from my favourite teams, then Brazil of 98', and Real Madrid.

Comparing to the coverage nowadays kids have, it's criminal. Okay, I love and I do watch, too, but back in my young Mad Football Days, I would have probably spent the whole day just browsing the internet for football match streams.

Chicago Bulls, a team worthy of keeping awake till 3:00 EU time, to watch him/them. Well, I was too young at the time, but I did catch replays of their games on sunday evenings. Usually, Slovenija1 channel would show at least 1 Bulls game per week.

Formula 1 back then was booming and blooming. I watched seasons 1994-2003, when Schumacher-Hakkinen era slowly began to develop.

Sports nowadays are so self-evident and easy to reach, seemed to have lost their charm.
Is it because the rarity factor is gone or are we just fed up with it all ?

Sports have become commercialized - its all about the big dollars now, its a shame

Exactly the silent point I was making, and you pointed it out.
