A Different Sort Of High Speed Photography

in #travel8 years ago

This has been edited to reduce foreground blur and sharpen the image up. It was captured at about 70 miles an hour. See if you can spot the original in the slideshow!

Our recent drive across the country was a collaborative effort. We took turns driving and took turns running the camera. We left with fantasies about stopping and capturing stunning scenes of Americana, but the schedule required we drive, drive, drive most of the way there and back. At one point, my wife tried a couple shots from the moving car that were not bad, so she tried a little video and it was also not bad. On the way home, we took turns either driving or pointing the camera out the window and capturing some images. Fishy made a montage of the video clips and posted it on her blog a few days ago. This is a slide show of the still images we captured. All photos are either mine or @fishyculture's and used with mutual consent on either of our blogs, images were captured with a Fuji FinePix S8300. These were all taken while in motion and almost all snapped at somewhere between 55 and 80 miles per hour. The camera continues to perform beyond expectations, even if the video function is kaput.

Here we go, one more time across the country but I'll get it done in half the time it took fishy! (Two attempts on dtube, no luck. Here is the ewetube version.)

THANK YOU for visiting my blog!

I love the patch of light on the shoulder of the mountain!

Amazing what you can capture out a car window travelling at 70 miles an hour! Not bad. Love the wind turbines. Imagine having one of those in your backyard...

Coming over the hill, it almost looked like the cars were being chopped up lol!

I liked the wind turbines and snowy mountains.

Thanks! I actually took the windmill shots, glad you liked them!
