The Mind Starts to Wander
Thought I'd post a photo for no particular reason other than I was out for a walk yesterday. It's been one of those really wet winters in Vancouver. The kind that makes you want to hunker down and drink coffee for most of the morning.
About two weeks ago I woke up to this. Granted it was sunny and that does a lot to lift your spirits. However it was a brief respite.
Now yesterday, that was our first taste of spring. It was a perfect day for a walk on the beach. There were plenty of people out walking their dogs or just enjoying the sun. There was a fresh breeze that made me long to be out on my boat with "no particular place to go".It won't be long now, the days are stretching out. Hopefully we'll get a couple of weeks of fair weather early on and I can get my maintenance done. I have to haul out this year and do my bottom, seems to me I need an insurance survey as well. That, two coats of cetol on the bulwarks and wax the topsides and I'm off.
Let me see where shall I go this summer? The Broughtons would be nice. I need to look at a tide table and find an apogean neap tide, that way I can get through all five sets of rapids in one day like I did two years ago. Ya that was sweet.......
Funny how one nice day can set the mind to wandering. Hope your days shaping up and you're looking forward to summer as much as I am.
Nice, looking forward to posts on your boat! looks great even in snow :D
