The Princess and the Veteran

Here is the latest painting I completed. It started this last Sunday evening when I had some terrible creative blocks going on. I realized I was feeling overwhelmed by the amount of custom textured brushes I have. I decided to try and experiment by limiting myself to two very simple brushes. I used a hard edged flat brush for the sketch layer and a hard round brush for everything else. I learned a lot about anatomy and color and how it's the knowledge and skill, not the tools, that make an image. I needed to prove to myself that I wasn't dependent on my fancy custom textured brushes. Below is the final product and I'm quite happy with is.
