Reptilian Rider Revisited - Phase 1
So a while back I painted a picture of a female warrior riding a lizard. It was a digital painting from a while back. I wanted to revisit it this time but in a traditional medium. So for tonight, I laid in the line work. I will paint over this in burnt umber with an under painting to base in the values. It will probably end up being an oil painting as I generally have more fun with that than acrylics. Here is the sketch so far:
Like I said I plan on doing the under painting next and I will update the painting when I get to that point. For now, here is the old original digital painting:
So the reason I wanted to revisit this painting is that I felt the concept was really cool I just didn't like some of the anatomy. I felt the original had a very man like face which I didn't like. It was due to just botching a female face which I feel I am much better at now. So look for more updates from me on this... If I manage to not mess it up!
Fierce! I like the color pallets in the original do you plan on making the colors different in the new one? The original one was nice by the way. The face is a little hard but she is riding a lizard- lol🙃
I might keep it close to the original. I like those colors too though i may try to inject some vibrant reds in there as well.
I can't wait to see it finished!
