Steemhomework for the week / Earth day - Experiential projects with the planting of plants at home or schools
Hello friends of Steemiteducation, on the eve of Earth Day, my contribution will be an experiential project, to conserve our planet, through the construction of small school gardens or at home, with the aim of carrying out practical work aimed at giving a knowledge of the operation of an orchard, the needs and care of each of the plants.
Likewise, this project should be complemented with sporadic outings for some ecological theme, participate in the day of the tree or raise awareness with videos about the procedures for planting fruit trees, contributing to assess the relationship between the environment and human activities.
This project can be worked individually at home, where the child feels responsible for caring for and preserving their project, and then working as a group, through conversational workshops, where each child comments on their experience from the beginning as a seed to see their already grown plant.
With these agricultural tasks the following objectives will be achieved:
- Promote Environmental Education.
- Achieve a better relationship between the environment that surrounds them.
- Promote values in students.
- Know the cultivation techniques of organic farming.
- Manipulate elements such as soil, water, fertilizers, seeds, providing an enriching experience.
- Know the growth process of some horticultural species.
- Participate in the process of obtaining vegetables from the sowing and care of the plants to enjoy their consumption.
- Create habits of good health, nutrition, management and protection of the environment.
I particularly did this project at home, with my children and it was an exciting experience for them and at the same time enriching for the learning that leaves them.
Here I show you the procedure, with some Papaya seeds that my children put them to dry, then plant them on the balcony and they constantly had the responsibility to water them.
After a few weeks, look at the result of a beautiful Papaya plant, which will then be transplanted to a larger place, so that the tree can grow and bear fruit.
