Well that was a weird "weekend"

I'm still getting over it. I've never done a quick trip to the States and back before. I have friends, rich friends who'd say things like "Oh yes, Tarquin is taking me over to New York for the weekend" but I never thought it would be me flying three and a half thousand miles on Saturday and then doing the same back on Monday night.

Of course the jet lag is nothing like coming back from California. And I'm not sure how much of it is just because I did the equivalent of staying up till 3am on Saturday and Sunday and then on Monday night did the same but then tried to fall asleep in a chair in a room full of a few hundred people all trying to do the same. We're nuts aren't we, people?

I feel a bit dislocated. I'm quite sure it's Tuesday not Wednesday today. And I'm tired and I've got a scratchy dry throat (probably from breathing the same air as those few hundred people for seven hours, twice) so I tried recording for openmic and my voice just wouldn't work properly. I think I'm fine and then I'll have to talk to someone and find that my mouth isn't working in the same gear as my brain quite.

I'm glad we did it - it was nice to discover a bit more of the city and get a feel for it. But I keep thinking that I ought to go out for a walk down to the Jefferson Memorial or something and then realising that's a long (wet) way for a walk.

If it's any consilation, I haven't even left the house and I'm not sure i know what day it is... ;)

You described jetlag perfectly while bragging name dropping and complaining in the same breathe. The boasting was almost undetectable. I won't go anywhere unless it's for three weeks. It's nice to have rich generous friends. Go for a walk and hydrate you will feel better. ;)
