The Roar of Silence

This may seem a strange title, but I do believe that it is a very powerful statement.

Firstly, what is silence?
Well, it is so often used very glibly but in actual fact there are many faces to silence.

The obvious is the absence of noise - but even here, there is no such thing as even when we are in a remote place of nature there is the rustle of leaves, the gentle wind, bird calls or the sound of water.

Then there is the silence of sleep - and again this is not true silence - there is breathing, and movement of the body.

Then there is the silence of the mouth - and I think this is the most powerful face of silence.
Here we have the brain thinking of something and the mouth wanting to translate those thoughts to others - but the brain kicks in again and the mouth closes and becomes silent.

This is silence.
