The Human Spirit

Life has a way of sending us curve balls and usually when we are least expecting them.
These past few weeks have been an emotional roller coaster road for our family as the dad in our family had to be admitted to hospital and for much of the time was in intensive care.

The one day my son and I sat by his bedside watching the blood pressure on the machine as it climbed higher and higher and trying not to let him see how anxious we were feeling.
We sat there for six hours not knowing how things would pan out.

Eventually he was stabilised and we left the hospital feeling relief but emotionally drained.

Over the next couple of weeks the entire family came up to give support which was so greatly appreciated - all the grandchildren too as they were all just as concerned as the adults.

Words cannot explain the love and gratitude that I feel for all the support that they all gave to me whilst they were here and I know their dad feels the same.
I know that seeing their dad so ill was something that hit them hard and yet they put on brave faces and did whatever they could to help.
The human spirit can be very resilient and all my children have shown that they have got what it takes and I love them for that.
