The Beauty that is within us
For this post, I take the rose as my example.
The rose has been a symbol of love since time began and will be so always I think.
However, I would like you to look a little closer to the rose - there are facets about it that are not unlike you and me.
Every bud comes into being small, yet perfect, curled up tight but beautiful - waiting to greet the world - just like a new born baby - a miracle.
As it unfolds, we look deeper and stare in wonder at the sheer beauty - no blemishes - just perfection.
It would be wonderful if that beauty and perfection could be maintained - just as we wish the beauty and innocence could stay with a child as they reach out into the big world - but sadly, the world leaves its mark and the blemishes and scars appear.
But like the rose, we struggle on hoping that the beauty within will not be forgotten and when the final petals fall, the scent of the rose will remind us of the beauty within that lingers still.
