Cleaning indoor plant leaves

It is always nice to have some indoor plants in the home, - they play a valuable part in cleaning the air around us.
However, I often see plants in homes that are so neglected which is very sad as it takes very little time to do what is necessary.

Leaves collect dust and if not cleaned, the plant cannot function properly and will eventually look miserable and may even die.
This is what I do:
Fill a bowl with some luke warm water and take some cotton wool and dip it into the water - squeeze out any excess water and gently wipe down the leaves.
The leaves will then be able to breathe again and will look so much better.

Just spraying the leaves does not always work as dust clings to the leaves and can be quite stubborn to remove.
There are products on the market that you can put on to the leaves to make them look very glossy, but I do not think this is a good thing to do as it is not natural and can also clog up the pores of the leaves.

If you keep your plant leaves clean, don't over water and keep them in an area where there is plenty of air circulation and plenty of light, they will be happy and healthy.
