How Las Vegas caught me by surprise 讓我意想不到的賭城

Having lived in Hong Kong for many years where, in my opinion her skyline is the most beautiful in the world, I didn't think there would be anywhere else that could wow me. Well, turns out I was wrong when I went to Las Vegas.
在香港住了很多年，我一直覺得她的天際線是世界上最美的，沒有其他地方可以跟她媲美。直到我去美國拉斯維加斯的時候，才發現要糾正我的想法。



If Hong Kong's skyline is spectacular, then Las Vegas is glamourous. The transformation of The Strip from day to night changes from a wow to a WOW!!!
如果香港的天際線用壯觀來形容，那麼拉斯維加斯就是驚艷。 賭城大道從白天到黑夜的變化可以說是從哇變成哇哇!!!

Along The Strip there are endless buildings, hotels and malls all vying for peoples' attention. Neon signs, light displays, structures of all sorts, fountains and massive billboards, all shouting "Come and take a photo of me!" I'm sure if you search on Steemit, you will find a lot of much better quality photographs of Las Vegas taken by the many brilliant photographers here. So my photos aren't a showcase of how glamourous Las Vegas is. Rather, this is about my memory lane down Las Vegas, a reflection of how a city caught me by surprise.
賭城大道上五光十色，數之不盡的建築物，酒店和商場各在爭妍鬥麗，引人注意。霓虹光，各式各樣的燈飾，噴泉和巨大的户外廣告牌，全對著遊人喊“來幫我拍個照片吧!”。 我相信在Steemit上有很多很有才華的攝影師已展視過質素非常高的賭城照片，我這些當然不能跟大師級比。所以我這裡的照片，並不是要展視賭城怎麼迷人，而是想分享我腦海中的賭城，一個讓我意想不到城市。

When I went in 2012, Celine Dion was just starting her residency at the Caesars Palace. The opportunity to to watch the diva perform at one of the most famous city in the world was too good to pass on and I quickly booked my tickets. A week before I was due to fly out, it was announced that she had to cancel her shows for a week due to illness, and yes, that week was exactly the same time I was in Vegas! Some things just aren't meant to be.
我在2012年去的時候，席琳·狄翁 剛在凱撒皇宮開始註場表演。能夠在世上最著名的城市之一欣賞這位世界級女歌手表演，機會實在難能可貴，我出發前馬上訂票。在起飛前一個星期，主辦單位宣布席琳·狄翁因為生病，不得不取消表演一星期。而那一個星期剛巧就是我在賭城的同一個星期! 真可惜，只好跟席琳·狄翁緣慳一面。



From The Strip to the Old Las Vegas, this is where everything started back in 1905. Today, Las Vegas may revolve around The Strip, yet Old Las Vegas hasn't given itself up. There is a subtlety to its glam, as it still retains its former glory showcasing another side of Vegas.
從賭城大道走到舊城區，賭城的歷史可以追溯至1905年，一切都是從舊城區開始。今天，賭城雖然是以賭城大道聞名，但舊城城卻沒有自暴自棄。她較低調的魅力，仍然保留了昔日的輝煌，展現了賭城的另一面。

People say what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. For me it didn't. They came back with me as memories. Viva Vegas.
人們常說，在賭城發生的事情，要留在賭城裡。但對我來說，賭城的回憶卻一直跟著我回家。賭城萬歲。
