My first month as an OCD curator
Earlier this month I joined OCD as a curator. In case you don't know, OCD stands for Operation Curation Delegation and is one of the biggest and longest established curation guild on Steemit. Its focus is to search and curate undervalued and quality posts by newcomers. If you're new or struggling to make headway on Steemit, getting curated by OCD definitely gives you a leg up and a boost of confidence. I was very fortunate to be curated by OCD quite early in my Steemit journey.
The OCD curator role is my second one after the @SteemitWorldMap. I've been a SteemitWorldMap curator sinces its inception and am familiar with its operation as I have grown with it. With OCD, the operation is much bigger, there are some 20 curators compared to 4 for SteemitWorldMap. As a newbie, it took me a little while to get my head around things, but the team are super crazy friendly and helpful.
At OCD, there are practices and guidelines to ensure only the best authors, ideally the new ones are curated. And being a curator was a bit more difficult than I had expected. There are 10 to 15 active curators each day, but Steemit isn't exactly flooding with quality undervalued authors right now. As one veteran OCD curator said, its better to not curate anybody than to curate low quality posts. I didn't want to curate meh post or to curate for the sake of curating.
During these few weeks, I have curated 14 posts. Here's a few of my favourite
I curated @justicerho post called United States Transportation Museum. This is a beautiful post about a day out with his son. Unfortunately he isn't very active, hopefully we will see more of him.
@ayasha-art is an artist from Bangladesh. She drew some of her friends in Our 1st night of Ramadan and seheri and what she thought they would be up to. The artwork is so cute.
@rakushasu is a writer of horror stories, unsettling tales. His post Mommy Dearest sent some shivers down my back. He isn't very active on Steemit either, let's see if he will pop around again.

Many people still don't get it and keep on prouducing meh stuff to get upvotes from communitities they delegate to. Producing quality content is really the way to go in the long run

Getting featured in ocd when first getting started was a major boost to my confidence and gave me the a green light in my mind to go #fullsteemahead on the platform. I've been loving every moment since, but getting discovered and curated by you was a much appreciated form of validation. I am eternal grateful @livinguktaiwan keep up the good work!
