Shopping for baking stuff

in #taiwan6 years ago (edited)

Yesterday I was going through my feed and came across a post that was resteemed by @yo-yo. It's from a new account called @breadbakers created by @akipponn.

I think bread is a fantastic thing, consisting of three basic ingredients only - water, flour and yeast. Yet with a bit of creativity and technique, its variations are endless. I can bake basic bread, and have managed to perfect one single recipe but beyond that I'm lost. I really looking forward to a flourishing breadbakers's community on Steemit, and hope to learn and see many great creations from other Steemians here.

It's been a while since I've baked any bread, and with all my supplies running low at home, this was a prompt for me to go and stock up on supplies. I'm going to take you to the largest baking supplies store in Taichung in Taiwan. Follow me to see what I bought.

I enjoyed seeing around the super market in your video :) Visiting supermarkets in foreign country is one of my biggest hobbies as a hobby cook/baker.

I could catch up some Chinese alphabets and it was interesting to find flours are labeled "麺粉". So it may be used more for noodles than for bread before or still. Culture and food are deeply connected :)

I look forward to seeing your bread soon!

And this isn't a normal supermarket, rather one dedicated for baking, but it does have some food stuffs, I love coming here! They also stock some flour fromJapan which are 3x more expensive than the local ones, I hear Japanese flour are very good quality (what isn't from Japan ^_^ )

I agree with you, when I go on holiday, I love to browse around supermarkets.

Welcome @livinguktaiwan to #breadbakers & thank you for introducing the community (also big thanks to @yo-yo for resteeming the post).

Bread is so simple but there are as many breads as there are bakers (or more!). Please post about the finished bread with the ingredients you bought :)

Happy bread baking!

Thanks @breadbakers. At the moment I'm still a one trick pony, hopefully will learn from the others here

期待你的baking结果 😄 记得你有发过做菠萝包的照片是吗 看着很好吃的样子
