Delete the misery - making your life light and compact
A compact life, what does that mean?
Discover how to make your life lighter and more fun by deleting the ballast. Do you join?
Nobody likes cumbersome organizations
No. You will not hear people say how nice they think the city is so bureaucratic or that they are so happy with stacks of paperwork to get a guarantee on a vacuum cleaner.
Logge organizations are not loved. And with good reason: the more logger an organization, the less well it can move with change.
Because natural laws also apply in real life: the more mass an object collects, the more energy is required to change it. This applies to ships, asteroids and snowmen. It applies to organizations and it also applies to your life.
The more mass you collect, the logger your life feels. The more complex the system, the more you get stuck in that system. And that is not a nice feeling, because it hinders your freedom. So what can you do about it?
The influence of superfluous mass
Unnecessary mass - or ballast - does not just consist of stuff. It is made up of all kinds of things that you hold on your spot.
See your life as a web. You stand in the middle, and you are surrounded by all kinds of threads that connect you with various things, services, people, responsibilities, fears, expectations and contracts.
Things like:
Contracts that you can not just get away from, that you do not want to have anymore and
that you do have money every month.Subscriptions to services that you hardly use.
Responsibilities and agreements that you actually can not or do not want to carry.
Unnecessary items for which you are responsible. Including cars, a second home, a boat, a
caravan in the garage or that incredibly expensive vase that has been jealously protected
for years.Neuroses that stop you from fully enjoying your life.
Relationships that have been pulling you down for years, but for which you have not
gathered the courage to put an end to it.Lots of task lists filled with things you ever want to do, but probably never will.
Every bit of ballast makes your life a bit less compact - it adds mass.
And that mass makes it increasingly difficult to be free and flexible.
Get rid of that mass as soon as possible!
I found the inspiration for this blog on sophiamagazine.nl, and source I used is beblissed.nl and libelle.nl
I get what you're getting at, but if you have a second home you are likely renting it out and getting rental income, which gives you more freedom, not less because you have more income sources and an investment. Having hardly any money restricts you and your freedom more than having a second house.
