If you´ve been on social media lately, you have probably seen these mysterious, crazyflying noodles dish. The noodles are originally created by Hana Restaurant in Singapore (as sources claim) and the dish have since been replicated and recreated all over the world.

@dianabeatz and I have been scrolling through our Instagram feed and found some crazy flying noodles which we were really curious about. We immediately found Anjoy - an original Vietnamese restaurant in Berlin which serve these dishes. So last week @dianabeatz and I went to Berlin by car for a day trip and we took the opportunity to give these flying noodles a try. Btw. I really love the German capital, because of its huge Asian gastronomic scene - you can expect to find all sorts of Asian dishes here.

What are flying noodles exactly?

The noodles are hanging on a pair of levitated chopsticks so that they look like they are magically floating in the air. In essence, the noodles cleverly obscure small piles between chopsticks and tray. They are presented on bamboo trays with some other dishes, sauces and not to forget a lot of salad.

Anjoy Vietnamese Restaurant

Located in Prenzlauer Berg you can always pop by for a meal when you´re in town and are in need of a good Vietnamese meal (5 mins away from Alexanderplatz by train). They not only have these flying noodle dishes, but also a big range of other standard Vietnamese dishes. At Anjoy restaurant, there´re 3 types of flying noodles to choose from. We could choose between Hu Tieu noodles with fried salmon and cocos sauce and Bun noodles with roasted beef (I forgot the third one though). I still remember the taste of the sauce on my tongue, we couldn´t stop dunking the noodles in the sauce ´cause it was so satisfyingly tasty. I have to admit that I only visit the restaurant, because of its flying noodles as I already know the Vietnamese dishes by itself - but you eat with your eyes, right? When you get the chance, you should definitely try this dish! And can we talk about the beautiful interior design? Dim lights, the placement of the furniture made out of timber and the countless plants let the restaurant have a modern as well as authentic feel to it. It is a worth while experience!
