What am I??

I try to catch up with good movies I missed lately. Last weekend I watched “Green Book” where during 1960s an African-American pianist was making a tour through southern states of America. I like movies based on true events, that’s why I added this movie to my watchlist.

I like the movie. Although there were some shocking conversations containing racism elements, which is characteristic to the time and place in 60s of America, there were also funny scenes where I had a smile on my face. Definitely worthy to watch.

There was one scene which struck me.
After a discussion in the car with his Italian driver, the pianist lets him pull over and walks in the rain. And he says the following to his driver:

If I’m not black enough, if I’m not white enough and if I’m not man enough, then tell me Tony what am I?

I guess that doesn’t need a lot of explaining does it? Finding a place in this society is very hard for some. If you already found your place, try to be more open to people with different culture, habits, religion, way of living... that’s what I told myself :)

Nice discussion. I also watched the movie. Good actors. Good movie. Sad in place. Glad that our society progressed since that time.

Indeed. Although our society has progressed a bit, there are still many years needed to reach a certain level of decency. Hopefully it doesn't take that long.

There is always a way to improve. But the horrendous inequality when a person was not allowed into a restaurant only because of the color of his skin is behind us and will never come back.

Congratulations @lion200! You received a personal award!

Indeed it sucks to be nothing. That is what I am with a black dad and white mom. If you think Dutch people are open and easy going you are wrong. Teachers, neighbours, everyone looked down on us kids.
I cannot say I am my parents grateful for that but the good news is they fit in the Kallergi plan.

I don't know what a Kallergi plan is, but I know what you mean.
Unfortunately our society is not that far yet to reach a certain level of decency in how we treat people.
Hopefully we can change this by starting to be better in our own homes, and hopefully this can expand to a much wider scale.

Search the internet.
Kallergi made a plan for 1 new race. No Jews , import Africans, make women have their children (if they do not like it force them). Wipe history. The plan is old (1920+) and the EU uses is to build their new world. It is not a secret, no.one seems to care. Afterall it's a men's world.

It is all about genocide, approving rapes, etc.

This will never change. This is planned nearly 100 years ago. Generations are raised by governments to like / accept what is happening now. They will not question anything. The animals on the farm will accept the bad treatment because they live in freedom..
