My 2017: Welcoming the New Year! - To New Beginnings

Five minutes just before the clock striked 12mn, my mum hastily woke me up and dragged me up to our rooftop to watch the fireworks display to welcome the New Year. I was feeling a bit cranky at first, considering that I came from work earlier that day and will have to go back to work by 5am again, but then I realized it was New Year's eve and I shouldn't start my year with crankiness and negative vibes.

I wasn't able to take much photos since my mind was still afloat at that time but here's my favorite shot of all:

For New year's eve dinner, we had "lechon" which means roasted pig. It's a popular dish in the Philippines, it's a must on every Filipino celebration. If you come here in the Philppines, dont miss trying our lechon. We also had round fruits in our table to bring us good luck for the coming year. My mum didn't prepare anything chicken or fish since she said it's a sign of bad luck. Here's a photo I took of the lechon:

Watching the fireworks glitter the night skies gave me happiness and hope. Hope that there's a better year coming for me. A new year to make up my mistakes and shortcomings to my family, friends and to those whom I have wronged in the past. This year also marks the start of my steemit journey which I pretty much look forward a lot to! Cheers to new beginnings, where we get another chance to appreciate and be thankful of everything we have -- our family.
