Wood Fired Cinnamon Rolls
Hi there Steemians! Considering the fact that Steemit has in many ways changed format with this new hard fork, I'll be switching up format as well. Tonight's post is a bit of a teaser post, to show you what's to come tomorrow!
We enjoyed these today out of our newly (mostly) built wood fired oven. We've made several things so far, starting off with (sandy) brownies, great pizza and now these rolls.
I was honestly surprised at how fast they cooked in the oven, it's been a pleasant surprise the whole way.
These were just simple cinnamon rolls, but what makes them unique is the addition of cajeta, which is cinnamon spiced Mexican caramel sauce made from goats milk. I've made it in the past from cows milk, although I will admit goats milks the way to go. Like worth getting a goat just for my cajeta problem worth it.
So stay tuned guys, this will come in the morning with the details on how to make it happen. Thanks for reading and supporting us, until tomorrow!
Happy drooling :)

I am drooling indeed :-D
Oh my God Girl, slap my belly silly!
You will laugh. I just got awake and have dreamed that I bake cinnamon rolls and had no sugar to cover :-)
Resteemed :-)
Thanks for this, I've had that same nightmare. :p
I would like to know about yeast in mexico. Is it the same stuff, like in The USSA? I hear, that there are many types of natural yeasts. Mostly I read about them in ancient baking books.
I've personally only encountered stuff like I used in the states. I know fresh is available but I haven't bothered with it as I'm happy with what I've got. I get a pound of good quality active dry for 40 pesos, about 2 dollars USD at the central market.
those look incredible
Wiping off the drool to type this... those look delicious :)
YUM
Nooo! Sandy brownies aren't cool. What happened?
This will be revealed in detail but when you make that mold for the center with the sand, needless to say the inside of the oven ends up lined in sand. As it dries, it drops a little here and there. At this point, it's stoppped falling off but it made for some hard to eat brownies.
