When gluten gives you gut pain....

While the indulgence of the Little Caesars pizza was delicious I have a hard time saying it was worth it at this point. The physical and emotional symptoms that I've experienced these last two days have surprised me both with the intensity and duration. I had literally no sugar today or yesterday yet I still spent last night sick and unable to sleep.

It's been a shit day to say the least but what I can say is one of the few things that have made me feel better today was the bone broth shown in this post, something about the fat and marrow does it.

I believe I have gluten issues. I have horrible experiences eating pizza lately. Anything pasta, or bread related, and I regret it...Good post.

How much physical distress would I have to suffer before giving up pizza? A couple of days of discomfort? For a good pizza I would seriously plan around that. But a couple of days of real pain? I just don’t know how bad it would have to get before the price was too high.

Not worth it! You are so right!

Today is the first day I woke up without a headache or brain fog since the little caesars. Probably the last time I'll eat that

I quit gluten years ago. It doesn't take willpower to stay away from it. You couldn't pay me to eat Little Ceasar. That would be like saying "Want to get black out drunk, but skip the drinking part and go straight to the hangover?"

Here's a keto bread recipe that I make. It would probably make decent pizza dough if you wanted. After you bake it, just top it with sauce, cheese, toppings, and bake another 15 minutes at 400.

Ingredients
1¼ cups almond flour
5 tbsp ground psyllium husk powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp sea salt
2 tsp cider vinegar
1 cup boiling water
3 egg whites
2 tbsp sesame seeds (optional

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Bring the water to a boil and add it, the vinegar and egg whites to the bowl, while beating with a hand mixer for about 30 seconds. Don't over mix the dough, the consistency should resemble Play-Doh.
Moisten hands and make 6 pieces of the dough. Place on a greased baking sheet.
Bake on lower rack in the oven for 50–60 minutes, depending on the size of your bread. They're done when you hear a hollow sound when tapping the bottom of the bun.
Serve with butter and toppings of your choice.

Psyllium husk is the secret ingredient here and gives it its elastic bread-like quality that makes it special. I've bought it from Sprouts in the supplement aisle. You'll probably have to order it.

Hey thanks for that. Since starting carnivore, I've sworn off almonds completely as well as gluten as I just can't digest them. I'm honestly not sure if I'll bother with any bread products other than perhaps pastries with the right gluten free flour in the future.

But I don't claim to be the norm, I got issues lol.

Ah, if you can't do almonds then don't bother with it.

After the carnivore diet you might want to try going plant based. See how you feel by comparison.

Do you guys brine stuff? Brining pork will spoil you.

See I went vegetarian at one point and soon after started to discover I have issues digesting most vegetables and grains. I honestly think I'd suffer on a plant based diet as I can't even eat some dried dates without getting a sugar rush and other symptoms like rashes. It's starting to become a bit of a bummer but for once my skin is healing (I've had chronic acne for more than 10 years) and I look totally different, with a six pack I didn't have to go to the gym for and more energy than I know how to effectively use currently lol

I'm going to get into brining, I've heard about it and am interested. Corned beef is a sort of a brine

Wow, interesting. No offense. Everyone is different and I believe that people should listen to their own bodies.

My wife could probably be a total carnivore. She's done really well on Keto and was recently told by a doctor that her body disliked carbs so much that she might as well consider it an allergy.
Maybe you have something in common in terms of body chemistry

Have you tried juicing or juicing substitute? I keep putting it off because of the expense but am intrigued with the potential health benefits while skipping all the digestion work.

Also, brining is very easy. It promises that your meat will never be bland, and never be dry. 1 gallon of water, 1 cup per gallon of salt, 1 cup per gallon of sugar, throw whatever else stuff you want(lemons, fresh garlic, herbs, spices) boil water, let it cool, submerge the meat, seal it and refrigerate it for 1-3 days.

Char the hell out of it on an open flame and it still won't be dry.

Juices and honestly anything other than water is hard on my stomach at this point. I'm hoping I can consume fruits in the future and can consume small amounts of dried dates without too much issue now. I think I honestly am dealing with some sort of autoinflammatory disease/disorder as I'm apparently reacting to even tiny amounts of things like peanuts or corn syrup. It's getting rather depressing as I'm not really going to be eating most things other people will, at best I'll incorporate fruits and dates as I've always digested those well historically.

Thanks for the tip on brining it's something I was planning on trying soon.

Yeah i think I need to hunker down and eat just meat at least for a few months straight until I'm healthy enough to handle the toxins in plants. Not sure I'll ever want much in veggies but fruits I miss.

Sounds like your body is becoming allergic to everything. I know that can be really frustrating and makes eating no fun.

Here's my chosen YouTube health guru to hopefully shed some light on your situation. Been following him and making changes to my diet and life style for months.

Spoiler: He says your deal stems from the nervous system and usually caused by neuro-toxins(like monosodium glutamate a.k.a. MSG). This causes autoimmune disorders and hypersensitivity to food as well as chronic inflammation.

He recommends building up your gut flora to rebuild your immune system.

I'd also make friends with some high quality Turmeric to work as an anti-inflammatory and black pepper(the pepper makes turmeric more easily accepted). Will likely give you an energy and mood boost.

I take an organic fulvic mineral too. Helps to rebuild your digestion. Minerals allows our gut to absorb vitamins and nutrients.
