Steemit Photo Challenge 46: Bokah Lily's First Contest Entry 1 and 2

I hate mushrooms.  And shrimp.  Something about the texture of both just causes me to spit it out most of the time. My whole life those were two foods guaranteed to get me to wrinkle my face in disgust. However as an adult,  I recognize the value in both foods so I've been making an effort recently to try to like these things.

Apparently you throw them together with bacon and cheese and you get something so good, it's worth submitting for the Steemit Photo Challenge. Bokeh seemed right up my alley, as I seem to include one in every post.  It's to do with the faded out background and the vivid focus point from my understanding. I don't claim to know very much about photography though.

These are my two entries, all are mine taken with a Nikon D5500 camera with AF-P 18-55mm lens on my balcony.  The city is Acapulco Mexico, my home.

Stay tuned for more pictures of these as well as the recipe.  They were to die for...and I hate mushrooms and shrimp.

Hey!

I learned a lot about you the other day watching the interview with Berwick, I really enjoyed that!

Those barking dogs though.

LOL

Have a good week Lily. I am happy for you, you are doing well.

I assume it is you reading this, it may be the other fella you guys said is on here sometimes, LOL!

We have not talked in awhile but I was really happy to learn more about your journey.

Hi there, thanks for the support. About the dogs, that was my Rebel dog's way of protesting his lack of presence in the interview. See, he's been in both press for truth ones so far and he felt excluded. That being said, I totally get how annoying it was and it honestly put me on edge the whole interview. You can't exactly yell shut up dog in your man voice during an interview LOL.

You are so funny LOL.

I wondered if that was affecting you guys or not. Rebel, seems fitting right?

I never saw your PFT ones, I have supported Dan for years and years and donated money a few times to him now, Luke R. also.

Josh Sigurdson on here too!

I like all these guys, we need them.

Thanks for taking some time for me today sister.

Not a problem, thanks for taking the time for the heartfelt comments. Rebel is a name that many told us we would regret and he does live up to it in many ways. I wouldn't have life without him. For the record, he wasn't in a cage, but probably on by bed laying on my pillow. haha

Haha love the undertone of your love..i mean hate for mushrooms and shrimp throughout the post :P

Looks amazing though! Look forward to the recipe!

It was to give people an idea of how good it is :P If someone that hates those two things can make it happen, it's worth something!

Very fancy restaurant looking Dish. A good way to down those mushrooms and Shrimp is with lots of Cheese and bacon hey!!

A surprisingly excellent way.

So far the only tolerable one I've found ha!

I hate mushrooms and shrimp also. This does look delicious, and a great view!

Looks really yummie... @lily-da-vine

This looks delicious! ;)

And I love both.

I want to, especially mushrooms. I'm fascinated by them but the texture gets me usually

Wow, this sounds amazing, I want to make some asap with the pounds of chanterelle mushrooms flooding into my kitchen right now! In a similar vein, have you tried shrimp n' grits with bacon, mushrooms and hearty amounts of cheese? A little cilantro garnish? Very worth it, very delicious!

No, but thank you for the suggestion. I don't have much experience with grit but its something I think I would like.

Grits are really yummy. It;s just s fancy way of saying corn meal. I like the courser, stone ground stuff personally. grits + cream cheese + salt/pepper in a crock pot until all gooey and yummy, then add in shrimp, bacon bits, sauteed mushrooms and onions (in bacon fat, duh) and any heat (I personally like chimayo chili pepper). Put it in a 9x13 pan, cover wish cheese, bake until brown on top and bubbly. Serve with cilranto or pico de gallo garnish.

Mouth wateringly good...my dad introduced me to it when he came back from a trip in Louisiana.

Sounds very good, thank you again!

That view is amazing. You have a great location there!
