Today's text simply means that if a ruler listens to or pays attention to gossip, all his officials are liars. In the school of success, who surrounds you matter a great deal! If you are encamped by gossips, you are a moment away from your downfall.
Every great man discards what people say about him; but stands on what he says about himself. What you say about yourself matters a lot. The beginning of the downfall of a great man is when he starts disbelieving himself. Peoples's opinions do not matter. What really matters is how you view yourself. The picture you create for yourself is the image you potray.
It is one thing for God to speak; It is a different thing for you to hear Him. Hearing implies understanding Him. Can you still hear God in the midst of calamity? He says you are healed. When sickness shows up, can you hear Him whisper to you that you are healed? What you say about yourself in trying moments and stormy times is the spring-board to your breakthrough. Your confessions bubble from the weLls of your belief. If you believe right you will surely confess right. Right confession during trials is a course of wisdom.
For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A heart filled with the word of God brings forth same. A mind dominated by worries is a complain station. Feed your heart with good things; constantly reflect on the love of Christ for you. While we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Let this goodnews settle in your spirit man. The more you think about the love of Christ, the more your mind is free from worries. Get rid of people who create a negative image of you. Do away with gossips. As you do this, the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus' (Philippians 4:7). This is truly a course of wisdom.
