Camping with the Fam

The family and I went on a brief camping trip to Fraser Flats, a campground in California north of Sonora. The first day of camping is always a kind of detox day for me, one that is spent randomly checking various devices for any kind of connection to the outside world. Once I settle in, I can live without the net, but the first day without connectivity makes for some pretty boring sitting.

I went with my dad, my wife, and my two kids, and it was an overall successful trip--My four-year-old caught a Brown Trout, and the entire group survived without a single argument.

Detwiler Fire

We weren't close enough to the ongoing wildfire in Mariposa to be in any danger, but by the second day, it was raining ash on us and the sun appeared a bright orange through the thick layers of smoke that shifted with the winds. Evacuations in Mariposa last I heard, and the fire is still not contained. :/
