The Bay of Storms
Sunset At The Bay of Storms
This photograph was taken at the end of a fine day of exploring the beautiful west coast of the Isle of Jura in the Inner Hebrides.
I have kayaked around this island a number of times now and we always stop and camp at Shean Bay on the south-west corner of the Island. The bay is protected from the worst of the Atlantic swells by some small islands just offshore and the grass is flat and perfect for camping.
There is usually a bit of driftwood to be found along the high tide mark for an evening camp fire or a morning fire to make toast for breakfast.
The name comes from the Gaelic and means storm but fortunately on this fine evening there was nothing to worry about.
