Behind the Scenes Colombian Fashion Shoot - First D-Tube
My first Dtube video from my recent travels to South America I was asked to shoot for Colombian fashion designer Samara Wells. Samara decided to use one of her everyday clients as the model which I thought was a great idea. I'm not really a fashion photographer, but I do consider myself an artist. So I just show what I thought would work for the style of the designs.
I shot all the BTS video myself in between taking photos. I do this a lot so I can document my shoots. Then it's a matter of stringing all the B-Role into something that visually is appealing. The tune in the video is Space by Amber Mark.

Images of the shoot are below:
Above the studio where we prepped for the shoot is where Samara lives. Light was pouring in from a window so I took advantage of the situation.
I love shooting on location. Almost any background will do when using the right lens and looking for color/light.
I used that same window light but for this shot, I shot into the light. It's a totally different look and feel. I call it light chasing.
Another window shot. If you don't have lights, use window light. You honestly can't go wrong.
It's refreshing and challenging to shoot a fashion style shoot not using a real model. Lots of award poses make it difficult, you have to engage and be creative to get your subject to look the part.
Let me know if you would like to see more BTS.
