Follow me to the great painter—Monet‘s art museum(Musée de I’Orangerie)
I went to Paris often and always love to visit museums, but I never heard of Musée de I’Orangerie. After my visit, it almost became my favorite art gallery, and I want to recommend that if you are going to Paris don’t miss Musée de I’Orangerie.
Musée de I’Orangerie is located opposite from Musée d’Orsay. If you have time, you also can visit both museums. Here is my post about Musée d’ Orsay. https://steemit.com/travel/@liflorence/follow-me-to-museum-d-orsay-in-paris
I had to finally see the main attraction, the very large water lilies paintings by Monet. He painted them up till his death, suffering from increasing bad sight. During the work period he was encouraged and pushed by Georges Clemenceau. Monet is one of the great painters, same as Van Gogh and Gauguin.
It’s a small museum, there are just two exhibition rooms, only 8 giant paintings. The most famous paintings—Les Nymphéas are hanging around the walls. All of these paintings were drawn in 1914-1918 years. When you are sitting in the middle of the hall and looking around, you will feel so quiet, time lapses, you will get inspired from the painting around you.
In addition, although the other level of the exhibition hall is not big, there are also many other famous artists’ works, such as Picasso, Cezanne, Matisse, Rousseau, Deran, and so on.
