MyPictureDay - Don't be Snappy!

WOW, This guy is HUGE! This is one extra large Snapping turtle! My wife and I both grew up around lots of animals and that has stayed with us over the course of our lives. We now run a dog and cat rescue and pet sitting service in the Atlanta area, it is small manageable and successful. Yesterday we went together to take care of a clients pets and home that are out of town. The lady lives on a large lake and the road to her home crosses the lakes dam.

While on our way out we of course had to cross back over the dam and could not help but see this monster sized snapping turtle sunning on the sidewalk. I had to stop and found myself snapping pictures of the snapping turtle. Anyway I thought that I would share these with the MyPictureDay contest so here are two of the pictures I got. I hope that you enjoy this little bit of prehistoric wildlife.

This turtle is almost 3 feet long from head to the end of its tail. Likely about 45 pounds and yes that is a wild guess about the weight.
