Blog-How-Do-Cryptocurrency-Wallets-Work_-803x420-01.jpeg

Hello dear famz and Tfc lover,I hope you are good. Welcome to my blog once again. Today I will like to discuss about wallet and what you should look out for before deciding to use it to store your cryptos.kindly enjoy the ride with me.

Introduction

Cryptos are special kind of digital currency that as such there is a way and manner by which it is kept. Unlike fiat, you don't keep them in a local bank rather you keep or store them in what is known as wallet.

There are different types of wallet,we have the cold and the hot wallet I have discussed this
in one of my previous post. My emphasis today is not just about wallet or it type, the point I want to drive home today is what to look out for when going for a wallet.

The reason being that what we are dealing with here is money and anything that involves money should be taken seriously so that you don't lose it. We will be exploring shortly the qualities of a good wallet. Let's go...smiles.

Qualities of a good wallet

  • Seemless and usable

A good wallet is meant to be usable and Seemless. The reason is not far fetched, everyone want something he or she will be able to operate with ease and less stress.

It should not be complicated. Normally a wallet should be designed in such a way that a novice can easily navigate his path through the wallet without complications or difficulty.

If you find yourself trying really hard to understand the way a wallet operate over and over again then that wallet is not really for you, so you don't end up making costly mistake trying to understand how to use it.

  • Prompt or push Notifications

A good wallet should have this feature,it should be able to give you update as touching the happenings in the market. This should be an added advantage for deciding to use the wallet.

Sometimes it could be very difficult tracking the activities in the market, you might not even know if your coin is doing really fine or not due to your busy schedule. The coin you're keeping tabs on might have made some serious move in the market without your knowledge.

When this feature is available,it can help you track these things and notify you about the price changes, profit targets, speculations and the likes. Look out for wallet that has this feature it will help you in no small way.

  • Backups.

A good wallet should have a back up system such that when there is a little glitch with the app or software, your data are not lost. It is funny how people loss their hard earned asset when there are some form of maintenance on the wallet.

I have seen some negative review about some wallet along this line which really didn't go down well with the users. There should be some form of cloud storage integrated into the wallet for user where they can back up data as it relates to their wallet.

  • Compactibility

This is key, some wallet doesn't have mobile version because it doesn't support that operating system. This is not to say that all wallet without mobile version are not good, most are.

The point I am trying to make here is that a good wallet should seek how to be compatible with all operating system including Android, windows and the likes.

This main purpose is for flexibility and efficiency as many people out there don't even have a PC and those who have may not be going out with it all the time. What then happens when they need to check out their wallet in a state of emergency? I hope you get my point now...

  • Security

This point cannot be overemphasized,it should be your top priority when it comes to choosing a wallet. I will implore you to do a torough research of the security strength of whatever wallet you want you use for storing your cryptos.

There are credible platforms out there that have done this homework for you. You could also check out reviews,it will help you know what users are saying about the wallet.

In addition to the security measures, there must be what we call two-factor authentication which protects your account from being broken into by hackers.

  • Automated log out system.

I have seen this feature work in my wallet,it logs me out at intervals and I never get tired of logging in again and again because I know it's for my good. The goal is to secure my asset from being stolen. A good wallet should work that way.

After few minutes of inactivity, it should automatically log you out and ask you to input your password/keys(as the case may be) afresh. This is a very good measure of security.

Conclusion

I will love to warp it up at this point. I believe you've learnt few things form this write up. Well there are still so much to know as regards this topic but I will always leave that to us as our homework. You should always DYOR anytime you learn some new or fascinating. Thanks once again.
