A Brief History Of Dogecoin Accomplishments - 3 Nascar Races, 1 Jamaican Bobsled Team Funded & 1 Coin Headed To The Moon
Were you to run a quick Google search on Dogecoin, you'd quickly learn it was the memer's coin of choice. What you wouldn't be able to tell, however, is exactly how much of what you read about Dogecoin is actually true.
In 2015, the Dogecoin community sponsored Josh Wise's car at the "Aaron's 499" at Talladega Speedway. The "Dogecar" managed to complete the race in twentieth place after narrowly several accidents.
"Dogecar", thanks to the efforts of the Reddit Dogecoin community, would narrowly beat out Danica Patrick in a poll to enter the Sprint All-Star Race. Unfortunately, "Dogecar" finished last.
Dogecoin also sent the Jamaican Bobsled Team to the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics when they qualfied, but could not afford to go.
The Dogecoin community has also raised funds for charity under the Doge4Water and Doge4FamilyHouse initiatives.
Unfortunately, I can't really recommend investing in Dogecoin for capital gains. There is not much use case for the coin, and I suspect the price would be much lower were it less meme-worthy - not a good long term sign.
The story is better if you convert the chart to US Dollars, but it's ultimately a pointless exercise. Why not simply hold Bitcoin?
Having said all this, Dogecoin is fun and I own a few for the lulz. Sometimes, that's enough.

Shibas are notorious for running away from their owners.
What about for chasing cars?
No, they don't care about cars or the people driving them. They don't notice anything: electric fences, rabbits, cats... they just run to be doing it. I have two shibas and yes, they have great expressions and make for good memes, but can you count on them as a currency?
Lord knows I would not trust my Great Pyrenees with fiscal OR monetary policy.
this reminds me of the dot.com boom... sponsor a bunch of crap, bowl games, stadiums... and cross your fingers !
It's worth noting that most of Doge's antics took place "way back" in 2015!
Oh, that is almost like ancient history in the world of cryptos (-:
Hah, yeah, I believe I called it "practically ancient" in the original post. It goes back further, to 2014 iirc.
I still have some DOGE somewhere, somehow I always liked that coin. When I was playing around cryptos and traded DOGE got me some nice profits.
It has definitely had a few impressive runs in the past. You can see on the long-term chart exactly where the Jamaican Bobsled Team Funding came from, because Doge went up 50%+ against BTC overnight!
That's funny I had doge coin for the fun of it also, but then I got a notice from my Exodus wallet that they would be discontinuing it so I got rid it.
It's not the kind of crypto that lends itself to hardware wallet or other high-security support.
good post!!!
Thanks to post the history of dogcoin...it s important..
